been busy...you know what it's like...

every heard of the pax wardrobe from Ikea? Yep got me one :) love it!!

Here is a photo (directly from the ikea website) I have plain white doors so that it will match with the rest of the doors in my house. They slide...or should I say glide :) then the light goes one....pretty sweet I must say. Thank you dad :)

That's were I've been...organizing my stuff into my new pax. It's a big job you know...because I saw that really cool picture of the sheets all folded up and stored inside the pillow case...it's Martha's site and you can find it here...yep I had to do that too...looks pretty neat I must say.

Do you make yours? Or do you send out store purchased cards? Believe it or not I don't make mine....no time for that...LOL I think I might this year though, I will have to see how things so in December. I have my December Daily parts sitting down there on the floor in my scrap room, it's on the floor because there is no room on the table ...oops.

So in my effort to create Christmas cards that require no additional purchases I have come up with these....I'd still like to do one more bright one...maybe later tonight :)

Made this tonight...in four hours...I was supose to start my December daily but didn't do that, having second thoughts on the paper I want to use...so I made this after I bought this fab little album today at the Learning Factory. It's an American Crafts modern album (6x6) I just love that thing! I want another one and they come in other colours!

I also picked up some BoBunny Blitzen paper to use in this mini. It was really really fun to create this, ready to do another now :)

...are so funny...my stomach does flip flops when she talks, ok, wait let me re-phrase that or you will think I was sea sick most of my day...LOL...she says the funniest things! I love that she doesn't understand time yet....she says yesterday which could really mean yesterday, last week or even last month. Today is today, she is good with that. Tomorrow is the day after today or next week or even next month.

She often says to me...mommy, in the morning will it be tomorrow? So here is my layout based on one of the things that makes my stomach do flip flops :)

Been only slightly busy...to recap my month of September....
I went from the picket line back to work...kids started school...started night school again, pottery!....hockey mom once again (love it!)...went apple picking....went to the Caledonia Fair....made the desgin team at Learning Factory....purchased all my kits or the club until December. Doesn't sound like much but phew, it's been busy!

Surgery went well, recovery not so much. I am better though and getting stronger each day, recovery from all the morphine, not fun. Looking forward to things to come around here.

Earlier this week I went crazy adn created 7 layouts, was fun! I found this Canadian company called Lucky 7 Factory, and they operate in Quebec. Her papers are devine! Not boy not girl...kind of in-between. So the first layout is using those papers with the exception of the backgroung paper, which is Crate.

This is a layout I made with the first Boys Rule Kit and a Creative Scrappers sketch (link to CS in my side bar)

Where have I been? Not blogging obviously. Getting ready for some fun that's for darn sure. Thinking about a new blog format, just having standardized blog topics...something different and new for the new blog design that will be happening shortly.
Kids are loving the pool, they swim every day, Josh is done school and has various activities for the summer...no two weeks are a like. This week Rich is home with the kiddos and they are heading to Port Colborne for a few days, visit Grandma in the woods. They will be back Tuesday and then Rich leaves for a weekend with the boys....I will take Friday off and we will head to Bingemans for the day (is that ok with you mom? LOL) Then we will walk to our friends house around the corner for a pot-luck dinner and an outdoor movie night. Should be fun!
Tomorrow after work I'm meeting a friend for dinner in Burlington...looking forward to that....
Well I guess I better get back to cleaning my scraproom....what a complete and utter disaster...

Birthday for Josh

This is the never ending birthday party number 3, yes, 3. First we had the "friends" party, very small, just a few boys over but never the less it was a "party". Then on his birthday I brought a cake to school for his class mates (yes I actually did look like on of those moms who had their shit together - it was brief though - LOL) Josh also picked out where he would like to have his birthday dinner so off to King's Buffet for some Chinese food, then home for his gifts. We then celebrated for the third time on Mother's Day with my side of the family and he was able to see his cousins....much fun it was.

And we're not done yet....next weekend promises to deliver more.

Managed to get three layouts done this weekend, super me, or maybe stupid me....LOL depending on how you look at it. My scrap room is a bomb, un-believable mess, Miss Olivia was in there "creating" LOOK OUT!!! Shudder at the thought of returning.

Went on a 3 hour tour on Saturday, it was my mother's day gift, 1/4 tank of gas and three hours....very very exciting it was....more on that this week and some gorgeous photos.

Been burning the candle at both ends lately and I need to sslllooooowwww down. Need to think......have an idea, it's a doosie of an idea too, so exciting....will share more soon, I just have to get few more things in place......

New Crate Paper...

It's wonderful stuff! Crate Paper has a few new lines that are to die for! I got my hands on Emma's Shop and Toy box and created a few layouts. The pink one was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scappers.

Update on the chandilier.....found white shades (I'm suprised) they look so pretty! Will take a photo soon.

So my wonderful dad came over to my house and did some electrical work for us, and he put up Olivia's new chandilier in her room. I dry brushed it with pink paint and hung beads from it, so pretty, but I think the shades are a bit to yellow so I'm going to see about replacements tomorrow, if not I will re-cover these shades.

Busy weekend, and things are winding down, such a relief. Here it is Sunday night and I have yet to start my final assignment that is worth 40% off my mark. Hopefully I can whip it up in an hour (yea right) and be in bed before midnight.

Lots of things finishing for us, night school, hockey and can-skate and then so many things starting again....night school for me, this time it's pottery! So excited about that one! I am taking that class with my beautiful friend Sheryl. Olivia starts swimming and Josh in ball hockey. Just enough busy for this house.

Oh have to share this fab place with you! For those who use SCAL (are you paying attention April? LOL) It's called Under a Cherry Tree, really fun!

My weekend started last night, took today off to be with the kids on the last day of March break. Today we went to Fenwood Farms to buy some organic meat, the kids got to see the emus and two of their eggs. Tomorrow is gymnastics and skating for Olivia, Josh won't be going to hockey practice because he has started a cough...don't want to push him and his cough is usually activity induced. In the afternoon we are going to Niagara Falls, need to go to the bank (yes it's far for us...LOL )and then we are going site seeing and dinner...yea!

The layout is one I created a few weeks ago for the tag layout we do a Scrap-tures, it's really fun. We have a starting layout and it is emailed to the first girl on the list, she uses it as inspiration to do a layout and then it is emailed to the next girl on the list. Teresa organizes it all and does a great job at it. At the end they are all posted on the Scrap-tures blog.

Been playing with lots of paper this week though....last weekend I was in Barrie with the girls from Scraptures and we had lots of fun together.

This week Josh and his team mates made it into the semi-finals so we will have some really fun hockey games coming up.

This week is March break! Yea! No lunches to pack!

Yippeee!! It's Friday! Finally! I'm packin my bags tonight and heading out of town to do some serious scrappin with a bunch of really fun gals. Good food and good company all around for me this weekend. It's a 2 hour drive to Barrie, it's close enough and far enough at the same time.

Yes, that would be me....there are some average looking people out there, like myself, but when they put on their sun glasses and they look like a movie star! That would not be me. I am not in denial. Not sure why I wanted to scrap this picture, actually now that I think about it I do know why. I wanted to test out the fixes I made in photoshop and then saved it to a SD card to be printed on my seperate photo printer....I just had to see if that was possible and to my delight it was. Kind of a weird post but that would be me too....weird :)

I usually don't post this sort of thing....don't know why I feel the need now, it's not like I have hundreds of people reading my blog...only the people who, I hope, like me....LOL. I usually keep my posts light and middle of the road kind of news with some scrappy projects. I'm not a very creative writer, I wish I was, like Sheye Rosemeyer or Leah Killian

It's been a rough start to the year, I'm not used to so much drama in my life...I live a pretty normal simple life but lately not so much. It just seems like when I pick myself up something knocks me down again....really not used to this and don't much like it. Don't get me wrong, I've had some really good things happen this year already and those are the sorts of things I kind of hope to happen, I'm really fortunate not to have too many pitfalls in my life as it's usually pretty even and normal. I like it that way. Lately though....people are kind of surprising me with their behavior.

In this next paragraph I want to write a response to those who mistreated me this year, I want to scream at the bully and curse at the know it all and go postal on those who won't mind their own business and leave mine alone. I want to stoop down to their level and tell them exactly what is on my mind and dish back the crap they are giving me. But I won't because I feel sorry for them, they are shallow people who really need to go to church and LISTEN. I have to say that I am so disappointed and saddened in with the actions of so many people right now. I'm in shock, one after the other they just keep coming.

Last November I found this blog post at Brave Girls and I would love to share it with you, it is so worth your time to read it, you can find it here. Today, as I was sobbing, I realized that I have something so much more than those people will ever have and I find strength within myself that empowers me even more. That's actually the good part....picking myself up, looking to improve, forgive and learn. I am the one who will be smiling in the end because I know.

So please, when you are out in the jungle of life think about the signs people are wearing and be kind and gentle to one another....we have such little time and we don't want to waste it on anger.

Another storm is on it's way! I hope it's a good one, I am still waiting to have a snow day and to take pictures of a snowman. I have so few pictures of the kids playing outside, some of it because we haven't had much snow and some of it because I'm too darn lazy to put my coat on and go out there...LOL.

One of the challenges at Scraptures last weekend was to create a layout, photograph and post it within an hour...yea I think I'm still twitching....LOL I'm a slow scrapper for sure.....this is what I came up with for the challenge.

You know when you get half way through a scrapbook kit and wish you had another piece of pattern paper that you just used on a previous layout? Yes, I do this, and in this layout I really wanted another piece so I tried to make one that resembled (beacause you know you can't get it exactly the same) but if you can make something that you like then it's all good.

I took the yellow piece of card stock and inked the edges, I took bubble wrap and stamped the corners...then it was too dark! NOOOOO! so I sprayed it with yellow maya mist and tada! done....and I'm pleased. The backgroud page is the card stock that I altered and the two other pieces are the glitz pattern papers that I cut vertically so I could have both awesome patterns in my layout. This is Scraptures January Kit...loved it!

I made formal wear for cupcakes! The pinwheel flower is a perfect embellishment for a cupcake so I created this one with the Martha Stewart boarder punch and a one of her butterfly punches. The strip of paper is 12x1.5 and scored every 1/4 inch and then folded. Glue down the center piece with strong glue is it naturally wants to pop out. I used a straw to go into the cupcake and cut out a cup cake holder in the matching paper (ki memories)

With only scraps left in my card kit I created this with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, I like the variety of colours in the paper.

More scraps, canvas and sewing.

Spellbinders scallop squares and a hand made flower...lightly mist the paper with water to make it plyable, make it much easier to shape.

Scraptures Project

Here is the project I made for the 8th anniversary challenge at Scrap-tures. I used last years release of BoBunny's winter collection...very fun colour combo. The large die cut snow fakes are a punch by Marvy purchased from Michaels, the clear acrylic snowflakes are purchased from Avon (yes that is weird) and the blue ones are a gift from Chelle at Scrap-tures (so pretty) The wood (hence the 8th anniversary gift) shadow box frame is from Dollarama and painted white. Paper strips were added to frame the wood and then embellished.

Welcome to a brand new year!

January 2011 is a special month here at Scrap~tures – we’re one year old! Thanks to your support and participation we’ve had a great first year and want to show our gratitude by celebrating all month long with games, prizes, a blog hop, AVATAR challenges and lots of inspiration and fun!!

We have been working hard behind the scenes to provide inspirational challenges, based on “traditional” anniversary gift lists, that will run all month long. For every challenge that you complete (and post in the particular challenge thread AND note in your “birthday book” (master challenge list thread) you can count a candle! Yes, that’s right, for every challenge you complete, you can take the little candle blinkie to put in your siggie line! How fun (and cute) is that? (and that's the answer to "why all the candles?"

AND!! if that isn’t enough, we’re going to have an ANNIVERSARY CROP the weekend of January 21, 22 and 23 so mark your calendars and invite your friends! The crop challenges will start with an early bird challenge (you’ll love it, I guarantee it ;-) ) on Friday at noon and go all weekend long.

More December photos, these are a few of them that will make it into my December Daily Mini Album. I have no idea how I'm going to do this for the project 365....

Olivia and I went shopping tonight, all night, we got home late. We had fun....picked up these wonderful cushions for my new couch and love seat....I like them. A little on the white side compared to the tarnished look of the room but I'm sure they won't stay like that....

Christmas decorations in my house, I think I have 3 of them up plus the tree this year. Just didn't feel like all the clutter so they stayed in boxes and only a handful made it out.

The morning after the night before....LOL....what a stinkin mess! It's a little better now but not by much.

Baking! Too bad they are all gone and Christmas isn't even here yet....better get back in there.

All snug in MY bed! Rotten kids...LOL I love it they just snuggle right in.

We named our elf - Elfy - yes very original but it works. The kids love looking for the clever little guy in the morning....so do I on some mornings....LOL.

That's it for now! Michaels has some really good coupons right now! 50% off everyday this week....I've been there three times and it's only Monday! Picked up some yummy stuff to play with next week...can't wait!!

Christmas that is! I picked up an advent calendar for Josh when I was at Target, it is so very cool....it's a Lego Advent Calendar and he will open a window each day to a little pile of lego and assemble it, little things like a snowman and a Christmas tree....so fun. He did see it the other day and is very anxious to start but we have to wait until next Wednesday. In the photo it is difficult to see each of the perferated doors to the goods because of the scene, but they are there, all 24 of them.

The other day I was talking with Kim at the Memory Keeper and we were talking about advent calendars (the Karen Foster type) and one thing led to another and I learned Playmobile also had advent calendars. So off I go looking for one for Olivia so she can have the same type of thing as Josh. I found a Fairy Playmobile advent calendar for her, great price too. The calendar has a scene as well, I set it up in the photo to show you how wonderful it is, and each butterfly has the number to tell you what door to open.

So this year I will have to tuck their home made (Karen Foster) advent calendars away until next year so they can enjoy something different.

Seems like September just ended and I was wondering where it went....while I was thinking October went and now it's November...how did that happen? That's just crazy.

So much to do, so much I want to do and yet I only do what I have to....LOL...nothing extra. I did two layouts today, maybe I'll be able to create another tonight.

Right in the thick of Christmas shopping now, almost done then I can start on the stocking stuffers for the kids. At least I'm ahead of schedule for one task.

It's been a bit since my last post...thanks for the reminder mum!

I did very well at the fair this year, 9 ribbons and my halloween banner won the "special" award. It was fun but I think next year I'll start earlier....LOL

We went drove up the highway and found a farmer with this at the end of their driveway so everyone picked out their perfect pumpkin.

Here is a picture of Josh last Sunday, he saw the spread of desserts in the kitchen and said "boy this day keeps getting better and better!" LOL too funny!

I've been working on a few layouts with the August kit from Life Preservers, the alternate features Thrift Shop from October Afternoon, such lovely stuff! I have two layouts done and am working on another, I'll post that later.

This is the first full week of school. I'm trying to stay organized, so far so good. I pack a lunch for Josh every night so this year I have started something new to save some week night time. On Sunday night I pack all his lunches for the week, I have plastic containers to keep everything sorted, I have to put two cookies in a baggie every night so I might as well just spend a minute and do it 4 more times. Surprisingly enough it doesn't take long to pack 5 lunches, as its all the same stuff. The sandwich is the hard part because you don't want that to go bad but Josh doesn't eat them so I just pack some lunch meat and I have it in portion baggies in the freezer that I pull out each night. I'm liking this already. Now if I can just keep the fingers out of the box all week then I won't have a problem.

Earlier tonight (well I guess last night...LOL) I got upset with Olivia because she was playing (aka-making a mess) with a bottle of green paint. She had paint on a favorite blanket, her shirt, all over herself and all over my bathroom. She hides it from me because she knows she is only allowed to use it in a controlled environment (aka-my scrap room and in her panties only!) She knows where I keep it all too, I'll have to hide it all again. I have tons of it as I use to folk art paint many moons ago, long before I discovered paper.

Then I feel terribly guilty for being upset when I see her asleep in my bed, so pretty and peaceful. Then I think of all the mothers who have lost their babies, and would give anything to have their babies make such a mess like this. Puts things into prospective a little bit...it's just a shirt, who cares! I did then and now I won't again.

Olivia sang that all day as we enjoyed our visit with the marine life. Amazing creatures they are. This is a photo I took of Olivia feeding a Beluga whale, she was all smiles. I bought the photo the park photographer took as well, it turned out perfect...her smiling while touching the whale and the angle is perfect....better be for $16 for a 6x8 (ouch) but I had to have it. I don't think we were 10 minutes out of the parking lot and she was out like a light.

She asked me if we could go back tomorrow....

Front Row Seats

Awesome seats we managed to get ourselves at the Canal Days Fireworks this year. Olivia wasn't too impressed this time, don't know why as she love the Canada Day display here in town. At any rate we all enjoyed ourselves this weekend and managed to hook up with some fabulous friends of ours, Bill and Jess.

Summer is half way done...bummer. I still have a few weeks left of holidays and we are going to the trailer with some Friends in a few weeks which I'm sure will be an absolute blast for all of us.

Olivia's swimming is progressing nicely, she loves the water, that's the easy part the hard part is teaching the respect for the water. When hubby was in the hospital a few weeks ago she and I would swim at 9pm when the water was 92 degrees then go and put our pj's on and go to bed. That was heaven! He's home now and the water is only 84 today...still good but I really liked how warm it was.

They had a blast, I said yes to eveything they asked, gosh I wish that would happen to me...LOL. A cloudy start to the day but so worth it, the clouds kept the crowds away so we could play.

A fresh summer hair cut....

Seems to be catchy in my house right now, all the new haircuts. Hubby needs to have his curly locks cut off now too. Olivia and I went out last night and cut all her hair off. I have been toying with it for months, I'm ready then I change my mind.

At the Canada Day parade last week one of the floats held 9 girls who were cutting their hair for "Hair for Angels" it's an organization who provides wigs to children who's parents can't afford an expensive wig for their sick child. So the group of girls needed one more pony to have their magic number (your need 10 pony's to make a wig) Well that did it for me! We set our appointment, received a really cute cut and helped someone out.

It will grow again, and I will enjoy the process of growing it back. The next time we cut it off for a donation she will be old enough to understand what she is really doing.

Gosh how they looked so blue at dusk tonight. She wanted to play on the slip and slide tonight and I tried to distract her with a bike ride but it didn't work. She sat on the big rock and pouted, then she said she was going to sit there until daddy came home to turn the hose on for her. That broke my heart because I don't know when daddy is coming home.

He went into the hospital last Tuesday with a serious internal infection and has been on intervenes antibiotics ever since. Slow but sure he is coming along. We will see what the first of the week brings.

So I turned on the hose for her. We have hot and cold water in the garage so she enjoyed the luke-warm water on her slide tonight....not too long though, need that hot water for the washer.

So sad to see this beautiful tree come down. It was in the front of mum and dad's house and it lost a limb, they came to fix it up and before you knew it they cut the thing down....Josh cried, twice!

The kids really enjoyed playing on it though....here is a pic of all of them on it, it's rare to get such a picture of all five of them together looking at the camera and one or two not crying!

Had a really fun crop at Life Preservers this weekend and I managed to complete a few layouts and the others I want to do are written down so I can do them another time. I'm a slow scrapper.

Nice weekend, hubby was at his high school reunion for most of the weekend and it was me and the three kids! Josh had a friend over for most of Saturday, sometimes it's easier to have more than less....kids I mean.

Was reading Tim Holtz blog and am so jealous I could not attend this class today at Buffalo Stamps, so close but just couldn't do it.....next time.

My scrap room is a complete mess again, and I'm pretty sure I sold my soul to the devil that I would not let that happen again......I'm so brutal. I need more shelving, my inks and mists are growing like metal clothes hangers. I'm just not sure where to put it I don't have much room or wall space left....maybe I need to move a wall....

I can explain all the yucky weather we have been having for the last week.....it's simple....we opened our pool. Before we opened it the weather was sooo nice and warm, really warm, swimming warm....and now it's cold, we needed a jacket today - yuck.

Here's hoping we will dry out a bit and be able to enjoy more outdoor activities. This is Josh and dad playing in the pool early last week.

She was at CKC Buffalo and is so friendly and easy to talk to, I enjoyed chatting while creating my make and take she had at her booth. I should post that too....gotta take a pic still. I think I have her entire collection now.....this is what I purchased this trip.

CKC was good, I had 4 classes this year and they were really good ones, but I don't think I will take "The latest and greatest with basic grey" again. I had to see what the hype was all about after this class being sold out so quickly in the past. I'm not head over heals with BG, I like it but I pick and choose a few things from ONE of their lines each CHA release.

Been doing a lot of creating lately, lots of mojo and yummy stuff to play with so I go with the flo!

By far my most loved paper line...ok maybe the top 5 (very hard to narrow that down to just one) These layouts look much better in person than they do in the photo and the actual photo is not so good, the one of the house was in the evening when the golden sun was setting and you can see the yellow reflection on the top of the garage. The other one is Olivia and it was printed at a local drug store....gasp! My printer does a way better job than those washed out photos, but anyway I needed, or I thought I needed a 5x7 and I can't print those. Ended up cutting it down, should have re-printed but didn't want to waste it.

Excuses excuses, it's my art and I guess it doesn't really matter in the end anyway.....

Isn't she a beauty? A Hemingway, from the 1950's and I am so lucky to have such a beautiful vintage piece in my scrap room. Thank you to a very kind Rosemary for making it possible, it was meant to be.

I have also used it twice on my layouts, I especially love the ease of using this machine, it's manual so your not fighting a machine's margins...LOL. You just line it up and type....hard. It's exactly what I was looking for, I wish I had it a few weeks ago for my ATC's, but I'm sure I'll be using it on future cards.

The eggtician layout - I printed two photos, one colour and one black and white, I cut out the coloured cups from the colour photo and stuck them on the black and white photo. Too lazy to do it in photoshop and then go to Costco to pick up the prints, just print at home and cut....done in five minutes! I applied a small piece of tape the the scallop edge and stuck it on the typewriter paper and fed it through the machine.

The scallop circle in the "food group" layout is also typed, gosh I just love the look of that....the fading of the ink and the not so perfect lined up letter....

Scrapbooking is a wonderful creative outlet in our lives and our unique style makes our creations different. Everyone has their own reasons for scrapbooking, for me my hands love to play and create colourful embellies and my mind likes to think of new ideas and my heart likes to record all those sentimental moments that should be there for my children to cherish.

For National Scrapbooking Day the design team at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club wanted to bring a little extra excitement to May 1st. For my example I used several types of ribbon and glued them down to a piece of paper and then cut it evenly into a rectangle, there is a photo to show this as well. I need to post something in the month of April. So here it is....LOL.

Took Josh to see "How to Train your Dragon" tonight, it was in 3D. It was our first 3D movie and it was amazing, I was pleasantly surprised! What a fantastic movie, Josh told me to stop talking a few times but other than that our evening went really smooth. We went to Movie Palace and if you can believe it we were the only two people in there, kind of spooky actually. First time in that theatre for us too, I really liked the table in front of you so you could put your snacks down and the seats were very well cushioned. All in all an A+ night.

So quiet in the house, both kids are asleep in my bed, gosh I hope they saved some room for me, good thing we have a king. Hubby is at the trailer so it's all up to me for a few days.

It's so unlike the rest of my house, except for my scrap room of course! It's so soft, dainty, and pretty.....the rest of the house is like walking through a forest, with the dark floors and olive green walls, very comfortable and soothing.

Poor thing, been so busy.

I've posted a copy of Olivia's day care picture.....I thought they turned out quite nice.....cost a lot more that school photo's though. Very worth it.

Getting ready for the next crop in a few weeks. Lots to do and it's going to be fun! I am going to make some valentines card for Olivia's day care friends for one of the make and takes. I have a few other layout ideas up my sleeve too.

Josh is crazy about lego now. Not sure how that happened. First it was the leapster, cubeworld, bakugan, webkins (still) and now it's lego......could have picked a cheaper hobby...HAHA I should talk.

Olivia's birthday is around the corner and I don't think a day goes by when she doesn't remind me....."e-yah's birthday soon mama" so cute. They must be pumping her at day care about it cause it isn't coming from me. She wants little pony for her birthday. I bought her a new kitchen and I gave it to her already so I will wrap up my little pony for her. Then she will have more things to open on her special celebration weekend...good grief.

We are celebrating three birthdays this month, my mum, Olivia and my nephew DJ.....so I'll have to make three cakes for them all.....yep I can do it. They will all be here celebrating at the end of the month.

Layouts are coming along, my room is almost organized and I have a very very large table in there and new lights!! Yippee!! Three fluorescent lights, they are soooo beautiful, it's perfect. I could use a 20 foot usb cord, is there such a thing? Duh,......I would really like to hook up the design studio and sure cuts a lot (thanks April!) to my pc.

Time for bed....another busy day at work tomorrow and bin and sil are coming over tomorrow to install my new bathroom, and Josh has a hockey game...holy smokes! Night all.....

It's new years eve and hubby just went upstairs to pour me a drink....baileys and milk please! The hockey game sounded so exciting earlier tonight, I could hear my boys getting excited upstairs while I was scrapbooking in my room. Lots going on, Christmas is over, the house is tidy again, seems so bare with the tree down.

Rich's employer hosts a wonderful Christmas party every year and this December they held it at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. I have not had the pleasure of visiting the museum before and was I shocked to see such a marvelous place. The event was held in the middle of all the airplanes.....if you can imagine all the war planes in a very large hanger and then an open space for tables, food and activities....it was so wonderful.

Olivia was doing really well as we talked about going up to see Santa and I really thoought she might be just fine.....but no.....the picture here in the post shows her screaming. After she opened her gift she asked for another one...

He needs to wear glasses but won't. So I took him to see a different doctor to see if maybe the prescription was a bit off in the first pairs, she gave him half the strength so he could adjust easily and then move on to his full prescription. So we went to our favorite glasses place and he was trying on all kinds of glasses when he picked up this horrible yellow pair and stuck them on his face. He is not too happy with having to wear glasses so I let him pick out the frames he likes, kind of gives him some say in the whole thing. I don't like them but he LOVES them. What can I say? I guess Bono has yellow glasses...what do I know? The man looks at me and says "Do you really want them?" I replied "if he's gonna wear them then I'm gonna buy them"

Tonight we picked up his glasses and he's had them on all night. So far so good. He does have a "normal" pair too. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter what they look like? I couldn't care or less. I love that he has the confidence to pick them out and wear them...gosh I hope everything goes ok at school tomorrow....LOL.

but I'm already nervous about the pool next summer. I don't know why, we moved here in August and the pool was open for a good month after that and I was fine. I get these little panic attacks...it's weird. I know how much she loves the water, I know how stubborn and determined she is. Maybe that's why I'm so nervous. I have a few months to think of a back up plan.

Honestly, October 8th was my last post and I cannot believe I only had one this month, now it's November. November will be a much better month I just know it.

I don't often (if ever) cut out my photo's but this layout really needed it. This tree was from Fancy Pants last year and I used it backwards, it's a glittery green colour and I used the underside so I could get just black. I'm not a glittery kind a girl, I'm a girl in all other aspects but I just don't care for glitter.

Today was the day after the candy and I think ds was running on sugar alone today...and his father. We had a really nice dinner celebrating my dad's birthday and retirement in Hamilton earlier tonight and now it's time for another work week....who knows maybe I'll be at work all 5 days this week....wouldn't that be a nice concept!!!! The kids are well and that's really all that matters.

My poor blog has been so neglected, just like everything else in my life right now, oh, I have been feeding the kids so at least I've kept up on some obligations.

We have been in our new house for about 6 weeks (actually when I say the number it really not a long time) and it's pretty much sucking the life right out of me. Things are getting better thanks to a few meltdowns (yes, sadly me) and much more open communication (I'm sure you can read between the lines there...LOL) I have a few pictures on the wall and my big shelf is over the sofa so I am getting there. Of course the scrap room is done and it's soooo pretty. I look forward to posting pictures soon....but not yet I have something up my sleeve for in there. There are still things I cannot find, Joshua's curtain rod, the presser foot for my sewing machine (this REALLY sucks as I have all the material cut to make my curtains but cannot) and of course the sugar container and butter dish...gone forever I think.

The weekends are pretty much spent organizing things and making homes for all my things.....the things I thought would be so awesome (and in theory really are) are turning out to be yucky. I'm working out my issues. Last weekend I did some scrap booking with my LP kit (which was really fun) and I have completed my Halloween ATC too. I'm really wanting to make that mini Christmas organizer Melissa made for the last crop we had at LP....it is so pretty.

I went to Buffalo last Friday and had tons of fun shopping with Cathy, I didn't get my bind it all but I managed to find it here at the Memory Keeper just this past Monday so I'm quite happy with that....that Christmas organizer is going to look awesome with the bind it all. I went to Buffalo Stamps and Stuff as it was recommended by Elisabeth from ACBailey and loved the place....I was having little panic attacks in there because there were so many yummy things in there....LOL I'm such a looser!!

I am on the design team again for Life Preservers for another term and am very excited and proud to be part of a wonderful group of girls over there. If your thinking you need some kits you have to look at them, the prices are great and you get lots of stuff.

ACBailey always has tons of activities going on...holy smokes I can't keep up with them....always thinking up new fun ways to scrap and give us ideas, those ladies are awesome too.

Booked a trip to Saginaw Michigan today, Cathy got us an awesome deal at the Marriott so we are able to do more shopping with the money we are saving...LOL. Birch Run has great stores and I haven't been there in a few years so we thought we would give Erie, PA a break and head west for a change.

My dad is retiring at the end of the month, so excited for him. We have some special things planned for him and I'm sure many photo opportunities.

My poor camera hasn't been used in 5 weeks, actually no we went to the fair and I was able to get a few pictures of the kids, I guess just two occasions, tonight and the fair. That's ok it won't take me long to catch up to my 100 pictures a week average. Yes I have a problem.

Well this is my first post for October and not the last. I cannot believe I did not make one single post in September. Thanks for reading such a long post...if you made it this far!

Thanks to the girls at LP I was able to copy the home made clip it up. Turned out pretty good actually, I'm going to hang it from the ceiling so it doesn't take up too much room....but not until we get to the new house. I have binder clips and metal shower curtain hangers on mine and use them for different sized letters. This is only for my packaged letters no other embellies....I like to keep things together so if I can't have them all in one place forget it. The lamp shade was $2 from drop and shop and the clips are from the dollar store. This clip it up cost me a grand total of $8.

Here is a layout of my mom and my daughter. I used the LP alternate kit for June and cut out the flowers. A very lumpy layout. I was dressing Olivia in her jammies tonight and we were chatting about the day, I said "tomorrow we will go see Grannie and Papa" and she replied "oh fun!" She so cute!

I'm so glad we are moving. My house is lovely but it just a bit too small, I don't have a linen closet and the master bed room closet is only 1/2 used because you can't get at the other part....little things that make you grouchy. My new house has a walk in closet - yum. Olivia's closet is a regular closet with bi-folds but it's 11 feet long....any girls dream. My scrap room is 12 feet by 15 feet with florescent lighting - I dream about it every night. Did I mention the pool? Josh is pretty excited about that and Rich gets a new shed...that has windows 8-)

This is was we are leaving behind, a lovely home with unbelievably awesome neighbours.

But there is a bird in my now dead planter. I'm really not a flowery kinda girl but when we put our house up for sale I thought I should have some colour outside. Currently our front garden is populated with shrubs and low lying plants....many shades of green. So I picked up this beautiful plant, no idea what it was but I was so proud of myself because I kept it alive for so long. Now it's somebirdy's home. I'm hoping I can catch a photo of the baby when it cracks it's way into the world.

Managed to get it all to work! I've been stumbling around PSE trying to rotate....then I finally figured it out. A new blog look....thanks to Shabby Blogs, they have some cute stuff in there.

Our neighbourhood bbq was this past Saturday and one of the neighbours rented this bouncie for the kids, they had tons of fun. Yes that is dh enjoying his "pop" Bbq's and pop just go together kwim?

Our cats try to run out every chance they get, and it's ok for Holly to get out because she always comes home but Molly is never allowed out. This is a picture of Holly peeking in the front door....so cute they are.....

It's sold!!! It's been a crazy two weeks around here, unbelievable....when it rains it pours. Now I'm off for five straight days, what a wonderful break and all I'm going to do is scrap and shop!!!!

It only took him 4 days to notice I smashed up his truck. I'm just sooo lucky I missed the light or else it would have costs us some serious money. I'm also so lucky I was driving his truck and not mine 8-) mine is 4 months old.

So I hit a planter....yes, a planter. A very large concrete planter, ooops. He wasn't mad at all actually. It looks pretty good here, when I first got out to look at it I was in shock, it was bad, really bad. My dad saved the day....thanks dad. He hammered it back out and clipped it up, I just need to sand off the shavings and use the touch up paint I bought from the Mazda dealer earlier this week.

It will look pretty good when I'm done, except for the tiny hole, but we all need mementos !! Right Step?
